Welcome at the web-site of Mermayde, a consultancy founded in 1994.

We specialised in the several aspects related to the chemical and biological monitoring, including Quality Assurance and Quality Control of (environmental) measurements: QA/QC issues. In addition, we are, as one of the co-developers of the Biological Early Warning System (BEWS) 'Musselmonitor', offering services for its implementation and training.

Over the last decades our services, as EC registered Expert, included support to EC-RTD project management (e.g. as Project Technical Advisor, as 'PTA'), assessment/reviewing of research projects (as 'Monitor') and Evaluation of EC research proposals.

'Mermayde' is not an acronym. It reflects our interest in the science of the oceans and other waters: it is the middle-English word for 'mermaid'.
